We will cross the International Date Line, arriving in Tokyo, the next day.
Oct. 18, Sat.
ARRIVE TOKYO/NARITA – FUKUOKA.
On arrival at Tokyo, we will go through immigration and customs. We will then proceed to our domestic flight to Fukuoka.

Oct. 19, Sun.
FUKUOKA.
Our morning tour of the city will include Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to Michizane Sugawara, the God of Learning. The grounds of the shrine are expansive and house other interesting sightseeing spots.

Oct. 20, Mon.
FUKUOKA – NAGASAKI.
This morning we travel by train to Nagasaki. On arrival we will visit the Peace Park with its huge Nagasaki Peace Statue. We will also visit the Site of the Martyrdom of the 26 Saints. The Christians, 6 Spanish friars and 20 Japanese (including 2 young boys) were crucified following the decree prohibiting Christianity in Japan in 1597.

Oct. 21, Tue.
NAGASAKI – KUMAMOTO.
This morning we will visit Glover Garden which includes Glover Mansion overlooking Nagasaki Harbor. The garden is named after Thomas Glover, the best known of the expatriates. Just below this area is Oura Catholic Church, Japan’s oldest gothic-style wooden church. In the afternoon we board our motorcoach to Kumamoto.

KUMAMOTO.
Today we board our motorcoach to Kumamoto. On arrival we will visit the impressive Kumamoto Castle. A large and well fortified castle, it is one of the 3 premier castles of Japan, along with Himeji Castle and Matsumoto Castle. In the afternoon we will visit Suizenji Park featuring miniature landscapes.

KUMAMOTO – KAGOSHIMA.
We will travel by coach to Kagoshima Prefecture. We will visit Sengan-en also known as Iso Koen Park, a Japanese-style landscape garden, featuring Sakurajima as its background mountain. We will also visit Sakurajima, an active volcano and the symbol of Kagoshima.

KAGOSHIMA.
Today we will visit nearby Chiran, known as the town of kamikazes. We will visit the Chiran Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots and Chiran Samurai residences.
Oct. 25, Sat.
KAGOSHIMA – HIROSHIMA.
This morning we will board our train to Hiroshima. On arrival we will visit the Peace Memorial Park & Museum.

Oct. 26, Sun.
HIROSHIMA – MIYAJIMA.
We will take a short ferry ride to the islet of Miyajima, one of the three most scenic sites of Japan. We will overnight on the islet in a ryokan/Japanese inn.

MIYAJIMA – HIROSHIMA – KYOTO.
Today we travel to Kyoto by train. On arrival we will enjoy our city tour of Kyoto, visiting Sanjusangendo, Kinkajkuji (Golden Pavilion) and Heian Shrine.

All day free for independent activities. An optional tour to Nara will be available.

KYOTO to TOKYO.
This morning we will travel by bullet train to Tokyo. On arrival we will visit the Meiji Shrine, the Imperial East Garden and the Asakusa Temple and Nakamise shopping arcade.

HOMEWARD BOUND.
Morning free for last minute sightseeing or shopping. Transfer wll be provided to Narita International Airport for your flight home.
